Renaissance Lute by Alan Arthur Suits
USA
#M-10
This is a six course lute built by Alan Arthur Suits: 9 ribs of yew, Engelmann spruce soundboard, African blackwood pegs and fingerboard, pear bridge and gut frets. It is French polished with traditional shellac.
Flat fingerboards may be historical but don't work well, so luthier Alan Suits always makes them slightly arched - much nicer to play. An excellent lute, fine bright tone, wonderful for early Italian music. Includes a very heavy-duty Harptone case.
length - 27"
width - 12"
depth - 5 3/4"
string length - 23 3/16" or 59mm
