Uyghur music is the most Eastern of the ancient Turkic traditions. Instruments from Kashgar are heavily inlaid in geometric patterns, showing their Islamic origins. The Dutar is one of the longest of the family of Central Asian "long lutes". This Dutar has a joint at the neck and body making it more portable.
