Sitar B by Alan Arthur Suits
USA
#M-17
A sitar inspired by 19th century Kachuwa style, flat gourd ("turtle") models, built to the highest standards of craftsmanship and using the highest grade materials. The main body is Spanish cedar, natural gourds for both resonators, original design ornaments, Indian sambar antler bridges, Bolivian rosewood pegs. The broad, round soundboard gives this sitar outstanding volume as does the sound hole with a rosette. All of Suits's instruments are finished with French polish.
This sitar has outstanding tone and playability. The frets are almost flat which enables the bridge to function more readily than modern style sitars with highly arched frets.
52 1/4" long x 15" wide x 10 3/4" deep (maximum at top tumba)
