Omani Khanjar A

Omani silver work is prized across the Arabian Peninsula. It is usually very good sterling, distinct from the varying coin silver alloys common elsewhere in Arabia. Khanjars are worn most of the time in the countryside, and mainly just for ceremonial occasions in towns and cities. This heavy, exceptionally well-made khanjar is from Nizwa. The inlays in the ram's horn hilt are especially well done.
